Half-Way Done

So I've been in Tunisia for about 3 months now. I miss the states but I've been doing really well here. I meet new people all the time and keep myself busy with new experiences and traveling. I posted some more pictures up on my photoalbum from my recent travels. I went to Tabarka, which is a nice seaside town with great scenery, a really old castle, and nice people. We went there for a Latin music festival which was pretty good. Latin music in North Africa sounds random but it's actually really big here. I also went to Hammamet with my roomates. Its the really popular tourist town with nice beaches, a pretty cool medina (old city), and a lot of clubs. I've experienced the hospitality of Tunisian people here. Last weekend a friend's mom cooked us some couscous and dressed my roomates up in traditional clothing. We also randomly ran into the same woman, who happens to teach salsa, in Tabarka and another town 3 hours away a week later. She invited us to her aunt's house where we chilled and ate. So, overall, doing well in Tunisia and missing some of yall. haha.

The South

I uploaded some pictures from my trip to the South. I went with two Americans- Ben who is back in Indiana and Elainne who i live with now. The trip was great. We visited Tozeur and Tattouine and the small villages around those cities. In the pictures you'll see waterfalls, old villages, cool scenery, and where they shot Star Wars. Definitely going to go back to visit some more places in the Sahara. Email me if you want to hear some interesting stories.

So all my old roomates have left and I'm almost halfway through my stay here. I am living with three girls now- Elainne from Kansas, Jen from Taiwan, and Milica from Serbia. Its the beginning of a new chapter in Tunisia. So far so good.
